Another action packed weekend is over and a few realisations have come up...
Throwing food around IS fun!
To celebrate my good buddy gerard's birthday, a big bunch of us went to IChiban Tempanyaki restaurant. Although bc's tummy was telling him otherwise, we ate the food that was presented to us and then later thrown at us. Raw eggs was the first to be thrown at us at lightning speed and zero aim. Ben was lucky, he escaped with minor injuries to his watch. Cooked egg was then thrown at our mouths and those who practice with m&ms realised how practice doesnt help when the guy CANT THROW! So, cooked egg was smacking noses, going down tops and landing everywhere but in our mouths. I caught mine though!!! *grin* Fried rice was next on the agenda thrown with AND without the bowl. It was a desperate and stressful moment partly cos no one wants rice all over them but more importantly, you eat what you catch. However crude and messy, throwing food around was very very fun. Food fight anyone?
I hate lying to friends
Throwing a surprise birthday party for a friend is sometimes hard when you have to lie to them. It was particularly painful because she didnt want to celebrate her birthday but somehow my friends and i managed to lie like crazy and convince her to come. In the end i had to pretend to be very very upset with her and guilted her into coming, which worked but almost put a strain on our friendship. I hated it and it hurt me to lie so much. I hope she appreciated all our efforts cos we love her lots!
MSG causes migraines
Am i so aussie-fied that MSG affects me so terribly????. Almost immediately after eating curry laksa yesterday i suffered from a tension-like headache. My head throbbed and i could feel my blood vessels pulsating. ARGHHHHH good thing for panadol and a soft pillow. Oddly I can eat other stuff like the infamous Mee Goreng (Jumbo!!) and no worries. Chips and other junkfood also have MSG apparently, but nope, no worries too. So why do i get headaches with the MSG they put in chinese food???
Green Curry Chicken still kicks ass
Saturday night dinner was at Sumalee Thai in Newtown. An underground outdoor setting with superb food and a funky surrounding. I really love thai food but one favourite still stands out - green curry chicken. YUM! close second would be the chicken with cashews and then red curry duck. YUMBO!
I am a karaoke freak
In case you already didnt know, i loooovve karaoke. im not much of a singer. Karaoke is really amateurish but its soooooo much fun and it sure beats singing in the shower. After a yummy sugar hit (see picture) at Swissotel Sydney, two chickys and yours truly set out to find a karaoke room for 3 at 12 midnight. Surprisingly, it was rather difficult and expensive but after much perseverence we landed in Big Echo (a clone of Green Box) at almost 1am in the morning. $20 bucks is probably the most ive paid for karaoke for a while but it was a great nite. Thanz chickeys! Karaoke at 1am? yes i am a freak.
