Shattered Obsession

For those who have ever been with me to karaoke, you would know a few things
1. I love to sing
2. I love to sing taiwanese pop
3. I can only sing Stephanie Sun songs
4. My mandarin is CRAP!

Today, I excitedly put on a dvd that I bought of her recent concert in Taiwan and readied myself for some belting of her songs.

I was shattered.

Of all the concerts I have seen of taiwanese/.hongkong singers, hers was sooooooo disappointing. Although I still maintain she has an amazing voice, she actually wasn’t that good in concert (which may have also been contributed by the shitty quality of recording!), she didn’t have good stage presence, there was no crazy outfit, no quality dancing by her or other dancers. It did have the occassional fireworks….fizzle fizzle…. bleah……

Luckily I have another karaoke dvd (see my obsession) which is NOT a concert (I think?)

Ive never liked Stephanie for her looks (duh), her skinny weight (42kgs), her style (or lack there of) , just her unique voice and sweet/ sad songs.

Now where’s that other dvd…………..

Who pays for dinner?

To pose a rather controversial question (to some anyway), who should pay for dinner?

In a relationship , one major factor that adds to its stability is money. How much does one contribute to a relationship in monetary terms? Does the guy pay for the majority or ALL of the couple's meals? Should he be expected to?

I have found that this view varies enormously within guys. I have met and dated guys who have no issues with paying for their partners meals whether it be Cafe Sydney or maccas. They dont believe its right for them to ask the girl to pay. Although this may be construed as 'dominating' to some, these men generally dont use it to their advantage but rather as a way of showing how much they love their partner and that they can look after them. Sounds rather primitive perhaps but true.

Then there are the others

1. the guy pays when they are on a date only
2. they go dutch - fifty fifty
3. the girl pays if shes earns more

Personally i have dated almost each of these (except the no.3 ). I have had men pay for me 99% of the time, I have one where my partner pays for most things, and one where its fifty fifty. I suppose it depends on each guy.

Pet hate? When the guy doesnt offer to pay and rather waits for you to offer. Im sorry but i dont like that attitude. I have no problems paying for my own meal, but dont be cheap.

Back in the high school days and even uni, i remember that guys use to buy gifts (eg, flowers, toyz etc) and paid for all meals. Seems that times have changed a lot. Now, gifts are only bought on special occasions, flowers on birthdays/valentines/anniversaries and girls and boys should pay equally. So how do us grown-ups show love for one another nowadays? Back to the five types of love I suppose - actions, words of affirmation, touch, time and gifts.

Ladies, hopefully your man isn't cheap and worships the ground you walk on. But theres no shame in helping pay the bill yeah? I think all my fellow ladies would agree. The rest are all gold diggers :P

Guys, dont be a cheap ass! If you dont love the girl enough to pay for her dinner here and there, you dont deserve her. Even though we all deny it, girls love being pampered and
taken care of.
