Superhunk
The classic theme song, amazing CGI, the red leather'esque cape and Superman returns. And oh oh oh how nice is this new Superman... *drooolllll*. Not sure if anyone else noticed but he is such a dreamy dreamy man with the sexiest damn voice on screen (Brandon Routh that is..)Mesmerised by his charm and good looks, I almost forgot to watch the plot of the movie - which overall felt a tad slow but maybe because my eyes were on 'slow-mo' mode enjoying the superb eye candy...... anyways.....I had been looking forward to this latest Superman movie as I am such a fan of old school superheros. The Phantom movie in 1996 was good for its time but somewhat lame now. Billy Zane had the purple spandex down but wasnt overly drool worthy for me. In 2002 was the anticipated release of Spiderman which according to Wikipedia was the first movie to make more than US $100 million in one weekend. With its mainly positive reviews, this was definitely one of the more successful superhero movie since that year. Next was The Incredible Hulk in 2003 which didnt do too badly at the box office but hey, Eric Bana in green spandex....no eyes fluttering there. But he did a good job.The next two memorable Marvel superheros were by far the best - Batman 2005 and the Xmen series. The previous Batman movies got rather corny and stupid so the latest addition was by far the best of them all thanks to director Christopher Nolan's dark take on it. Admittedly, while stuck on a long plane flight to Japan, I watched it 3 times :P. Christian Bale has one seriously chiselled jawline. And of course, my favourite of all, Xmen which i really enjoyed except for the last one due to lack of character development in all their new characters (shoulda intro'd new ones earlier or in the next movie really) and where was Gambit?!?Now when are they going to do old school superheroes like He-man or She-ra?????Enjoy the eye candy
Sometimes, when I feel im going forward, I turn around and step back. I scan the last bit of tape and wonder if ive done it right. Then I move forward with caution, as caution seems the right way to go. As the past has shown that without caution there is danger.Danger that comes from lies and deception, from throwing too many hopes in one person, too many dreams in one place. Resulting in throwing grains of salt, in all things said and done. But someone dear keeps holding my hand, patiently guiding me forward, not letting me look back. And perhaps I should let go a little, and take a couple of steps forward and perhaps not look back too far but keep on walking instead.
