Congratulations to the gorgeous couple and for their amazing wedding.
I still cant wrap my head around this weekend, how it came, it went and how much i smile whenever i think about it all. I think everyone was grinning from ear to ear as all their friends and family watched the two take their vows and take the 'next step'.
My first church wedding - i love anglican weddings ive decided (even though im not anglican). Short, sweet and with a really funny priest. In between him telling des to 'kick himself' and reminding jen to 'why the hell is she marrying this guy' (yes, he said that) he spoke of God and his part in love and forgiveness. Then in a most special tribute, three of jens frens sang this amazing song which they wrote as they signed the wedding registry - "Until forever" while everyone listened in awe and thought of the same thing- why arent these gals in Australian Idol???!!!! :P
After some solid picture taking, a group of us tottled along to the Eastwood HOOOOtel (as bc puts it) for some lunch and to catch up with Di and Anton who flew in specially for the day. Then we all went home to prepare for the lavish reception that awaited.
The Tea Room was beautiful, with its high dazzling ceilings and classy elegant settings. A far nicer venue compared to the usual Chinese restaurant style shebangs that we fobs are used to.
ps I spent half the night making sure my boobs (or lack their of) were not popping outta my dress.
Highlights of the night were
1. Revelations of Des' HeMan aspirations by his dad
2. Serious airing of dirty laundry by Des' sidekick The Chez
3. Des' quality speech declaring his love for Jen is his special way - I believe it went roughly like - you are my one jen...i think... and sorta..... and Jen, youre AIIGHHHTTT . Sweet yet sooo funny! But we all knew what he meant.....sorta.....:P
4. Promotions of Kevs single status on Table 12.
5. A near miss by yours truly with the bridal bouquet (and BCs coronary when he saw it)
6. When Bernie decappitated the male figurine on the cake
Special highlight for me? my first slow dance with Bc ( everyone say Awwww.......) Sadly, the night came to an upsetting end for me as when i reached home, i found i had lost my precious earring. Hey, it was sentimental if not expensive. :(
But overall, i look back at the photos and smile..... Congrats to Jen and Des once more. Hope you enjoy ur honeymoon and your little party afterwards *wink wink*
